Haron Din confirmed as candidate for two Perlis seats
KANGAR March 9 - Pas National Information Chief, Datuk Dr Haron Din was Tuesday night announced as the party's candidate for the Arau parliamentary seat and Tambun Tulang state seat for the 11th General Election.
Perlis Pas Commissioner, Hashim Jasin announced Haron as the candidate at a ceramah function held at its state headquarters in Jejawi near here.
Dr Haron which also a member of the Perlis Fatwa Council before this was rumoured to be one of the main players of the party in facing the general election.
He also delivered a ceramah at the function which was attended by thousands of the party's supporters.
Pas also renominated the incumbents for three state seats. They are Zolkharnain Abidin for Santan, Ahmad Ali for Guar Sanji and Hashim himself for Sanglang.
Also nominated were businessman Dr Che Rosli Che Mat (Simpang Empat); Padang Besar Pas committee member, Mohd Ali Puteh (Chuping); businessman Suwardi Yaacob (Mata Ayer); former teacher Abdul Zakaria (Bintong); former teacher Ku Mahmood Ku Ismail (Kayang); Arau Pas Vice-Chief, Abu Bakar Ali (Pauh); and businessman Ahmad Adnan Fadzil (Sena).
Meanwhile, former assistant secretary at the Defence Ministry, Ishar Saad was announced as Pas candidate for the Kangar parliamentary seat while former Perlis Keadilan Chief, Wan Kharizal Wan Khazim was announced as candidate for the Padang Besar parliamentary seat.
Perlis has three parliamentary seats and 15 state seats.
