14th Malaysian Games overall winner to be crowned tomorrow

KUALA LUMPUR June 11 óFive gold medals at stake tomorrow will decide whether Terengganu or Selangor will be crowned overall 14th Malaysian Games (Sukma) winner.

2010 Melaka Sukma overall winner Terengganu are top of the medal table with 28 gold, 7 silver and 12 bronze followed by Selangor (24,18,27) and Johor (21,20,11).

The five gold medals at stake are the menís and womenís handball (2), rhythmic swimming (1) and menís and womenís softball (2).

Seven time Sukma overall winner Selangor who last tasted success at 2006 Kedah Sukma grabbed six gold medals today.

They came from kabaddi (menís and womenís), beach volleyball (menís and womenís), table tennis menís singles and rhythmic swimming.

Terengganu added three gold medals, all from rowing while Johor won three gold, two from rowing and one from menís basketball.

The closing ceremony at MSN Mini Stadium in Bukit Jalil will be officiated by Youth and Sports Minister, Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek. Ė Bernama
